Breif description about the tour:

TASHKENT

In this ski tour we invite fans of active skiing on snowy slopes of Beldersay and Chimgan mountain ranges, and also, you will have an opportunity to get acquainted with historical sights of the capital of Uzbekistan – Tashkent and ancient, but eternally young Samarkand.

The ski resorts of Beldersay and Chimgan were built under the guidance of Leonid Tyagachev, the head coach of the USSR national ski team. From 1983 to 1985 in the western spurs of the Tien Shan Range were built highways and elevators that met the needs of the International Ski Federation, hotels, restaurants, cafeterias – all the necessary infrastructure. Actually from the mid 80’s on weekends here massively, whole families began to arrive here fans of alpine skiing. Small children were introduced to alpine skiing from 3-4 years old. This was the beginning of the heyday of alpine skiing in Chimgan.

Specialists came to the conclusion that the snow structure here is similar to the New Zealand snow, and in addition to the Russian snow in Krasnaya Polyana, where the XXII Winter Olympic Games were held. The structure of snowflakes is flat, they fall in layers and do not stick to each other, thus ensuring fast and easy sliding.

There is plenty of snow on the slopes, elevators are operating, prices are affordable and people are kind-hearted.
Those who have visited this place at least once return to Chimgan with friends or relatives.

Tashkent is located between the western foothills of the Tien Shan mountain system and the Syr Darya River. The city is the center of political and economic life of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The first mention of Tashkent (called at that time Shash) dates back to II century BC. Wars and natural disasters destroyed many historical monuments of different epochs.

After a devastating earthquake in 1966, the city was almost completely destroyed and rebuilt.

New buildings decorated with mosaics and stucco decorations in the national Uzbek style make Tashkent attractive and interesting. Dinner at a restaurant in the city.

Transfer to the railway station. Transfer to Samarkand by electric train “Afrosiab” (2 hours 10 min. on the way). Samarkand is more than 2700 years old. It has witnessed many historical events.

Its walls resisted the armies of Alexander the Great (the end of IV century BC), the troops of the Arab Caliphate (VIII century), but the city was destroyed to the ground by the hordes of Genghis Khan (XIII century) and could not revive in its former place. In XIV-XV cc.

Samarkand became the capital of the huge empire of the formidable Amir Timur (Tamerlane), who dreamed of making it the capital of the World. Now it is the second largest city in the Republic of Uzbekistan, where “gray antiquity” and modernity peacefully neighbor.

Transfer by tourist motor transport to the hotel. Accommodation upon arrival, then you will be invited on a bus tour (with access to the objects of the show) on architectural monuments of Samarkand XIV-XIX centuries (about 5 hours).

You will visit the Gur-Emir mausoleum – the tomb of the Timurid dynasty on the male line. Here the Great and formidable Tamerlan (Amir Timur) found his last shelter; the central square of the “old city” – Registan, on which the ensemble of three madrasahs (spiritual-parochial schools) – Ulugbek, Tillya-Kari and Sher-Dor is located; the cathedral mosque Bibi-Khanim – the highest in Central Asia; visit the museum of the foundation of the city on the hills of the ancient settlement Afrosiab (formed by I century BC).

The excursion will be interrupted for lunch at a restaurant in the city and will continue until sunset. Dinner. The second day in Samarkand will start with breakfast in the hotel, after which you will go to the factory for the production of silk paper by artisanal method, products of which you can buy as souvenirs only in Samarkand.

Then you will be taken to the Old City Bazaar, which has been located on the territory it currently occupies since the IX century. Lunch in a modern Uzbek house, where you will be offered Uzbek Samarkand cuisine – the most delicious and diverse in all of Uzbekistan.
